Lightning with peak current = 3kA hits the upper phase of a distribution line(23.6m) above the ground.The radius of the phase is 1.258cm.The insulation of the phase can handle voltages up to 750kV.Now if I knew the wave resistance of the phase , I could calculate if there will be a shielding failure however my exercise doesnt say anything about it.When it doesnt say anything about it , which value should I pick out?

 

3kA is very thin baby-type of lightning. The normal positive amperage is 10-20 kA and bold even 100-300 kA if negative cloud. The impedance .... I never get even heard about someone would analyse lightning in such terms. But what I know for sure, the bunch of streamers sniffing the land surface to tell the clod which place is more "tasty" do it job rather slow, thus the moment from streamer have been sniffed one nose tip, that creature have about 1/4 second to jump approach. Once had such a chance at Youth when with bicycle rode the new-built HES dam. The very harsh rain started, I became wet to the skin, and started a violent lightning beating into the lake`s water, just sparkles rocketed upward. I had idea to make a photos, but for that I had to have come nearer to hilltop to see above the dam. I used to skulk in the grass sneaking on the stomach but as soon I get the head over the grass, the streamers immediately begun to kiss my face, and my hairs came upward. I let to fall down the slope then tried few more times but picture seem less valuable to give for it my life, thus I stopped to risk.
