Huh? So you de-soldered the EEPROM, replaced it, that didn't work, you put the old one back, and now it's working?

New one did not work for some reason tv was totaly dead not even stanby light was on.

Years ago in the TV repair trade, I encountered a Hitachi with corrupted EEPROM, so I ordered a replacement - no-one at the supplier bothered to mention that the firmware had been revised, and the micro + EEPROM had to be replaced as a pair - they were much more informative when we phoned to ask why the set was totally dead after replacing the EEPROM, especially when they told us that on its own the micro was more than double what we'd quoted to the customer.

When I phoned the besuited Australopithecus at Hitachi UK, he was very smug about how wonderful their service centres were.

I simply asked "if your service centres are so wonderful - why are your customers bringing their sets to us?!".
