Look for booklets and plans from Modern Radio Labs. I think there's some at https://worldradiohistory.com/, but searching will find others. Also at Radiohistory, old books of transistor projects. Transistors used to be very expensive, so there was incentive to do as much as possible with a single device, hence regeneration. Some of the old ARRL manuals may have had regen receivers for VHF or something. But tubes are fun too. I made a regen set using a 1U5, high voltage was from a bunch of 9V batteries clipped together.

I suggest you run a Google of "One Tube early Radios. Next do a Google of 1 transistor radios. Note how the transistor takes the place of the vacuum tube or valve for out friends across the pond. The idea here is to come away with an understanding of how things worked. Plenty of fond old memories. Germanium diodes like the 1N34 pictured and then the CK722 Germanium transistor (PNP) type.

The grid is clear for me and the anode but the control grid is it the cathode ?
