Hi Guys,

I have bought a triac which have a value of fusing current = 166 A2S for Tp=8.3ms mentioned in the data sheet

I am wondering how can i check this value? Also , for the current pulse width triggering the TRIAC (0.5ms).

there is also a max rate of rise of current at turn on to be observed too

to check I^2T rating of triac, get a fuse with half this rating - put in series with Triac, fire into a near short - if the fuse goes and the Triac survives - the rating for the triac was likely correct ...

Would you please show me the circuit how to connect the fuse? another question, why should the fuse be half the I^2T !!
