I provided a schematic of a XNOR gate that uses 8 PNP transistors. Crutchow claimed the solution is "far from the simplest".

If you are talking about post #38, I don't see anything from Carl after that.

I don't know about "far from", but there are concept-level XNOR circuits with fewer components. One way has just four resistors, and only 3 resistors if you use a FET; 19 pins vs. 46.

AND - in the post #38 image, the transistor schematic stages do not match the logic gates. I can't say which transistors are incorrect because there are no reference designators.

BJTs have of course been around for a long time and helpful references seem to be harder to find. When I had questions regarding breakdown voltages and using BJTs at higher switching speeds a wise sage/mentor directed me to Motorola's "High-Speed Switching Transistor Handbook", which you can find freely available on the Internet Archive. The technologies and construction may have changed over the years, but the information contained within is still relevant and exceptional. Best wishes.
