Has anyone worked with this 16 pin IC TC4539BP from Toshiba and can anybody tell me what the input pins 1 and 2 labeled 1T1 and 1T2 do? The data sheet talks about everything but. There is a block picture showing these inputs but no description as to what they do.

 

Compare the data sheet with that of CD4538.

 

Your thread title says the IC is a multivibrator, but the Toshiba datasheet from datasheetarchive.com says it is a dual 4-channel data multiplexer and explains clearly on the front page what the pin functions are. There are no pins labellled 1T1 and 1T2 in that datasheet.

 

Sorry about that, the 9 keys is to close the 8 key. The identifier should have read TC4538BP. I will check against the CD4538. Thanks to you both and sorry about the misprint.

From the left side of the Logic Diagram in the Toshiba TC4538 datasheet it is clear that T1 and T2 are the connection points for the timing resistor and capacitor. Pins 1 and 2 are for channel 1; pins 14 and 15 are for channel 2.
