Mexico City is at 2240m above sea level (7350 ft). Sea level barometric pressure is 760 mmHg and Mexico City is 585mmHg.
NFL played there tonight and players performed much better than I thought they would with so little air. Significantly less than Denver (635mmHg).
Final score: SanFran (38) Arizona (10)

I don't know what prep might have been done for this game, but in the past some NFL teams have spent time at the Air Force Academy's Falcon Stadium to acclimate to a high altitude location before going to such games. Falcon Stadium is at 6,621 ft MSL. Back in 2017 the Patriots, after playing Denver, practiced there for a few days before heading to Azteca stadium (which is ~7,220 ft MSL). They could have gone to War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, WY, which is at almost the exact same altitude (within a handful of feet) as Azteca. I don't know why they chose Air Force over Wyoming, since both were roughly the same distance from Denver. There was some talk of them doing their practices at the field behind the Cadet Field House, which is just over 7,000 ft MSL, but I don't think that happened -- probably out of concern about traffic congestion and negative impacts on the Academy's mission. By parking them at the Stadium, that impact was pretty minimal.
