Where'd your son get his height? He may be the definition of a bearded California hipster? The second pic is of me (the short guy in the blue shirt) and the Kid.

That would be cool, we will just see how it plays out. If it looks like it will happen shoot me a PM and we can make a plan. One scenario for the trip puts me overnighting in Cleveland on the night of June 4-5. If it looks like that's going to pan out I'll get in touch.

I've been on that stretch of the coastal highway, back in 2002 when my son and I went up to see Mt. St. Helens. We went up there via I-5 but returned back to the SF Bay area via US 101 and hugged the coast as much as we could. Wonderful trip.I know it might not be possible to change you room dates but an extra day (in Newport or Lincoln City) for a Oregon coast route would be very scenic if you can make the change. The direct I-5 valley route is quick but boring.
Great. Another possibility is a short side trip off I-5 to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum from Salem. That's worth leaving a little early in the morning to have some extra time there.I've been on that stretch of the coastal highway, back in 2002 when my son and I went up to see Mt. St. Helens. I know what you mean-- and how often I'm tempted to say exactly that to someone. We can explain it to them, but we can't understand it for them; they have to do that themselves, and sometimes they don't want to do the mental work required. My kids gave me this one, but it doesn't hold water on this site.

Today was Beach Day. Drove up the peninsula on I-280 and then over to the coast at Pacifico Beach. It was cold and cloudy and windy, but that didn't stop the surfers!
