I'm studying three phase circuits and I am struggling a little. I am coming across different examples and would like some clarity.
Firstly I understand that in a balanced three phase star circuit the neutral current is zero and can be calculated by
sqrt((L1^2+L2^2+L3^2)-(L1L2+L1L3+L2L3))
But when I am looking at examples in j notation it appears that the neutral current is the sum of the three phases converted into rectangular form.
What am I missing? Does anybody have any examples they can send me?
Thanks in advance.
