True ... whatever happened to Russia's ultra high tech hypersonic missiles? ... didn't they jail some of their scientists for fraud?Hard to get away with these days with all the satellites sending back pictures of their "High Technology" blowing up or falling down...
The problem with current Chinese technology is standards and responsibility. People trash Boeing but with Boeing you can sue, take them to court and make them responsible to shareholders. With a Chinese airplane, it's a total Pig in a Poke of legal and financial recourse completely controlled by the CCP.Or when they post propaganda that their technology is superior albeit faked and technologically flawed.
They work, sort of, we just invented cheaper countermeasures for them. The classic hypersonic missile gap hype is on the menu.True ... whatever happened to Russia's ultra high tech hypersonic missiles? ... didn't they jail some of their scientists for fraud?
You're just a skillful technician.This is silly.
Engineering is, literally, applied science.
Not only am I an engineer, but I am an inventor as well. I use science everyday as a matter of course in my professional life to create and build things that have never been created, or built, before.
more like a talented electro-plumber ...You're just a skillful technician.![]()
The Ukrainians shot them down with the Patriot Missiles...whatever happened to Russia's ultra high tech hypersonic missiles?
Paid for by me.The Ukrainians shot them down with the Patriot Missiles...
The current autocomplete LLM won't but maybe some future AGI will be. If it does, the main use will be porn, just like the Internet.Very interesting recent 60min TV interview with Geoffrey Hinton (a descendant of Gorge Boole, BTW) on the subject of A.I.
And his prediction that if steps are not taken to counter it, machines, and the rapid ability to self teach/correct their actions, could possible end up taking over our lives, and under their control, , impossible as it may seem, I tend to agree with him, especially as he pointed out , if the issue is neglected, !
I know a lot of people are going to poo-poo it, but I could see it happening.
A similar thing to what happened with the inception of the internet, no-one saw the requirement to apply controls and it rapidly became the wild west.

A great proving ground (at a much lower cost than a US war) for our military technology.Paid for by me.
You may be an engineer and inventor but you're certainly not a logician. This is silly.

It's clear to anyone with an open rational mind that humanity is doomed. All the significant metrics when extrapolated, lead to a disaster.Very interesting recent 60min TV interview with Geoffrey Hinton (a descendant of Gorge Boole, BTW) on the subject of A.I.

I want to know how well he did on the PE exam."The first engineer known by name and achievement is Imhotep, builder of the Step Pyramid at Ṣaqqārah, Egypt, probably about 2550 BCE.".
Wonder where he got his accreditation??![]()
With God helping, he ace'd the exam.I want to know how well he did on the PE exam.
Yup. A day in the life of a CE.With God helping, he ace'd the exam.
The raids come two days after the Alameda County Registrar of Voters announced there were enough signatures on a petition to recall Thao from office to move the process forward.
Supporters of a recall blame the mayor for not doing enough to fight crime which has led many businesses to close down in the city. They also blame Thao for the city's failure to apply for millions of dollars in state money to fight retail crime.
Thao was also criticized for firing former police chief LeRonne Armstrong and not hiring a replacement for more than a year.
