Cautionary tale
The beginning of the end for a bad experiment. The theory of decriminalizing drugs with no repercussions has failed the experimental data test.
The results of this failed experiment can be counted in dead bodies, contaminated, destroyed environments and cities in the crisis of drug addicted, mentally unstable homeless people terrorizing the general population to the point people are leaving the state and cities most affected by this experiment causing a doom loop of lost taxes, reduced services that cause more to leave until things hit the rock bottom of a zombieland.

You mean the leftist finally got smacked upside the head by reality?

It won't last. They're too stupid for the lesson to stick.

And they'll finally do it right the next time.

Nope, they are not in reality, the true leftist are pretending to whine about this loss of the mythical right to die on the sidewalk because 'it's your own body'. The reality is, there is taxpayer 'free' money to be made as part of the drug addiction services industrial complex (closely related to the poverty industrial complex) that IMO feeds this no restrictions, not repercussions decriminalization of drugs propaganda to the general public.

The one flaw of every "purist" system of thought, be it left or right, is that it idealizes the system itself, converting it into a goal instead of understanding it as a means, and completely ignores human nature ... and that never ends well.

Many IMO originally promoted this with the lofty goal to make tons of money. They knew from the start the likely outcome and damage so they gave it a nice name for the voters in 2020.

Drug Addiction Treatment and Recovery Act (Measure 110)

This IMO fool of a DA is still in Portland.

Or perhaps you're giving them (him) too much credit... most politicians don't care about the long term results of their proposals, and instead promote whatever ideas seem fashionable at the moment ... and when things end up in a crisis... well, they never let that go to waste either.

"Follow The Money" works, all of the time in politics and for politicians.

Spate of Mock News Sites With Russian Ties Pop Up in U.S.
The fake news organizations, experts say, represent a technological leap in the Kremlin’s efforts to spread false and misleading narratives.
The Miami Chronicle’s website first appeared on Feb. 26. Its tagline falsely claims to have delivered “the Florida News since 1937.”
Amid some true reports, the site published a story last week about a “leaked audio recording” of Victoria Nuland, the U.S. under secretary of state for political affairs, discussing a shift in American support for Russia’s beleaguered opposition after the death of the Russian dissident Aleksei A. Navalny. The recording is a crude fake, according to administration officials who would speak only anonymously to discuss intelligence matters.
The real problem is that the quality of real news sites is so low that most people can't tell the difference.
