Think traffic is bad where you live

Look at all the room they have for additional lanes, and all the people sitting in their cars that could be working at toll booth operators. Quite a hit to productivity. They will be late for valuable family activities like rushing their children to soccer practice and play dates so someone else can interact with their children. Oh, wait. That is a picture of China, not he US.

"The nightmare bottleneck was reportedly caused by the combination of a new checkpoint, which sharply reduced the amount of lanes on the motorway from an estimated 50 to 20, and foggy weather."

50 lanes? 50?

I only count 49 at the bottom of the picture. 25 at the toll booth (Check point?).

Yea the Chinese have 20 checkpoint lanes open for 50 lanes of traffic. In the US they would have done like Walmart does with their checkouts and had 6 lanes open, and at least 2 of those lanes would have trainees that have no clue what they are doing running them, out of the 50 when the traffic peaked. :p

Here in Florida we have toll-by-plate and SunPass. We don't need no stinkin' toll booths.

We got self-checkout too. Cheerful cashiers always annoyed me.
