Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Justice has decided not to pursue charges against the killers of Alton Sterling.

+1 for the elimination of a gun carrying criminal thug.
Alton Sterling was a registered sex offender with a lengthy criminal record, he won't be missed.

Alton Sterling was not an admirable man.

I just watched some video of cops wading into a riot with batons swinging and arresting rioters.

I wonder how much effort it would be to bring them to America and train our police depts.?

Not a problem. American police already have that kind of training. They even provide the protesters who need to be clubbed if the regular people won't accommodate them.

Update on post # 1837
In amazingly swift action, the killer cop was fired in less than 24 hours.
I have not found any statements about charging him with killing the "not a suspect".

The local DA would make that decision, not the cops.

"Balch Springs police said criminal investigations by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office and the district attorney's public integrity unit were continuing."

As usual your right. Just ignore the Constitution and all of that pesky judicial system stuff.
The civil rights complaint was investigated, and the DOJ decided not to pursue the case because they could NOT prove a civil right was violated.

So, within the confines of the Constitution, and their sworn duty, they did not charge the officers. Two UOF experts said the officers actions were reasonable given the circumstances.

Now, what Constitutional issues and pesky judicial stuff were you referencing?

Write to DOJ and force the issue.

The gun bearing thug ignored the civil and constitutional rights of the persons he committed criminal acts (like the homeless man that made the 911 call about Sterling's gun being pointed at him) on. Thankfully the police corrected his actions in a legal manner during their little encounter with Alton Sterling and his little pistol.

So executing a man without a trial is now OK? There was a time when you needed to be arrested and found guilty before execution.

Here's an oldie but a goodie and possibly part of the origin of the phrase, "War on Cops".
In Dec. 2015 the DOJ decided not to share Civil Asset Forfeiture money with the police departments that steal cash from the public.
The response from some police departments was to claim the DOJ was conducting a War on Cops.
I expect that this little bump in the road has been smoothed over by now and this "news" isn't news.

Most of us are united against the Obama era abuses of the program so I hope this crap never returns.

The technical term for this is "highway robbery".
