They are very real in our societies. Affirmative action, set asides, disparate impact, Obama's getting 90 Percent of thee black votes, ....

A racist is one who uses race in his or her decision making. If I hate you because of your race, I'm a racist. If I love you because of your race, I'm a racist too, because a preference all treatment of you on the basis of race is discriminatory treatment of others on the basis of race.

Unfortunate, racism is being thrown around without ever being defined. That benefits certain groups of people.

 

Yep, that pesky due process is long, tedious, and expensive. Maybe they should have just tried, convicted, and executed him without due process ... it would be cheaper.

After all, the schools do not discipline anymore, they turn it over to the police no matter what ... "clock boy" is coming to mind.

The teenager fatally shot by police in South L.A. over the weekend left a farewell note to his family before the encounter and appears to have wanted to end his life, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said Thursday.

Daniel Perez, 16, died Sunday afternoon after a confrontation with officers in the 4500 block of Ascot Avenue. Police said he was holding an item disguised to look like a gun. The orange tip of the item had been painted black to resemble an actual handgun.

Shortly before Perez’s encounter with officers, a 911 caller told operators that a man with a gun was in the area, which prompted the police response.

Perez is believed to have made that 911 call based on his cell phone use, Beck said. One of Perez’s parents also listened to the call and confirmed the teen’s voice, according to Beck.

A farewell note from Perez to his family was also found, while family members confirmed to police that the teenager had a “prior history,” Beck said. The police chief declined to divulge details about Perez’s personal life to reporters.

Authorities called the death of Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Owen a “calculated execution.”

Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell described the death in detail.

“Sgt. Owen approached the suspect in response to a burglary call,” McDonnell said as large photos of Owen were behind him. “The suspect immediately shot Sgt. Owen. He then stood over and executed Sgt. Owen by firing four additional rounds in his body.”

Before the news conference began at 4 p.m., authorities identified the man accused of killing Owen as Trenton Trevon Lovell.

A Chicago police officer who is hospitalized after she was severely beaten said she was afraid to use her gun because of the scrutiny she would have faced, Supt. Eddie Johnson said.

On Wednesday morning, police responded to a car crash at Roosevelt and Cicero on the city's West Side where officers encountered a man that police allege was violent and under the influence of drugs.

Three officers were hospitalized in the incident. One officer who was severely beaten told Supt. Johnson she was afraid for her life and afraid to use lethal force with all of the attention on the police department's previous actions and fatal incidents.

"She thought she was going to die. She knew that she should shoot this guy, but she chose not to, because she didn't want her family or the department to have to go through the scrutiny the next day on national news," Supt. Johnson said.

Sadly I think the cop made a tragic mistake that might cost her a lifetime of pain and disability from brain injuries. She let the threat catch-up to her instead of being ahead of his actions. Now maybe people can see why the female officer in Tulsa feared for her life when she suspected the man was on PCP.

In court Friday for the latest alleged attack, prosecutors said Huff repeatedly slammed the female officer's head onto concrete pavement until she lost consciousness and pulled chunks of hair from her head. The officer, a 17-year veteran, also suffered bone chips to the shoulder and wrist, a neck injury, and bruises and abrasions, prosecutors said.

The second officer also suffered a concussion, a broken right thumb, a torn quadriceps muscle, cuts and bruises, according to prosecutors.

Huff's face appeared swollen and his right eye was black and nearly swollen shut. His arrested records indicate he is a reputed Gangster Disciple gang member, but his attorney said he graduated from cosmetology school and worked full-time as a janitor and overnight at a chocolate factory.

Two Palms Springs police officers were fatally shot and another wounded Saturday while responding to family disturbance call, and a SWAT team remains at the scene, police said.

There is nothing about low I.Q. that makes a person more likely to commit a crime or do something stupid as a cop. It's been my experience living with a kid with autism and knowing good people with low I.Q. that they just take longer to get up to speed but when they do you can trust that person with your life if nothing novel happens that challenges what they know. The usually smart sociopaths are the main problem in true police criminality.

In the chemical industry, nuclear industry and many other manufacturing industries, we try to pick people that can follow instructions and make the next batch exactly like the previous batch. We don't want people trying to tweak or improve or change anything in a production environment. Those changes are for the lab. High IQ doesn't make for consistency - smart people get too distracted and turn too many knobs.
