No. Drunks don't, "comply" fast enough. The very slowness of their compliance time makes them easy kill shots.
You never kill drunks, that's bad luck. Our Shore Patrol SOP for handling mean drunks was a swimming trip to the toilet to sober them up.

Should, could, would.
He might have been ready to shoot his wife when the cops saw him with a gun instead of the book the wife said he had. It's just as possible the cops saved her life.
I bet she feels bad she talked him out of the car.
I'm not sure why they say the police video is inconclusive. Maybe that's why they don't want to release it.
My take is to be transparent.
I live in an open carry state, but I wouldn't think of taking a gun with me. And if I did I'm not sure what to do anymore if I was stopped with one.
@#12 You might have missed the video I posted. In that one she tased him then shot him anyway. But hey, he had an expired license plate.:(
I feel for the cops, but the cameras are going to drive them nuts. What used to be swept under the rug is now recorded.

Shall we call the cops to tell them to BEAT the 2015 numbers?
My math shows they are on target for 1084 kills this year.
Besides, they have Charlotte going now, where the Chief of Police has seen 4 days of rioting and still refuses to show his evidence.
One more little tick and the Charlotte police can finish that goal in a week.

Ah. She was playing, "comply or die" (as opposed to, "Terry Stop"). "Get on the ground! Grovel in the dirt! Worship my authoritah or die today!"

Yeah. I would have tried, "Is your car broke?"
WTF? Too stoned to even call a tow truck?
Sit down and quit wandering around while I get this wreck off the road (dumbass).
Can't even recite, "What crime do you suspect, officer?"
This is way more important than a domestic dispute. Cars don't break down every day and some woman might be getting beat to death by a drunk boyfriend.

I would never open carry in the city. Oregon is a traditional open carry state but why do it in towns if you have CCW? I usually open carry when in the wild and have never had a cop or a ranger bat an eye about it.

What I find interesting in the listed sequence of events is that officer Turnbrough fires his taser first then Officer Shelby fires her gun as the left hand moves and is unobservable. My crystal ball is not working either but maybe those two actions are related.

In Portland you can't even carry guns in locked cases.http://koin.com/2016/08/16/portland-man-with-arsenal-indicted/

"Eric Crowl was arrested while driving home, he had a rifle and shotgun, locked up in the back of his SUV as well as a pistol locked in his center console. From those weapons they charged Crowl with multiple felons including ‘attempted assault on a peace officer’."

His court-appointed attorney, Brian Schmonsees, said in a statement this case “is the most shocking abuse of police and prosecutorial power. I am ashamed of my colleagues for filing such trumped-up case.” He added, “Mr.Crowl’s case is the saddest I have been a part of in 11 years.”

As you can see it's not a racist thing with the police. Crowl is one of the nutcase "sovereign citizens" we have up here. Not the kind of people to be hanging around with because they go looking for trouble and they find it. This guy is stupid.

I agree.
My first rule about police is to never make any contact of your own free will.
(Don't even give them a one finger salute unless it's below the window level.)
If they do come in contact with me, give them nothing to work with. (Right to remain silent)
Still, I have seen video of police arresting a Lawyer for remaining silent, then telling her she has the right to remain silent.
(Another lawsuit payout, obviously.)

Those people who go around police, just waiting for them to do some stupid 'roid rage thing, are risking their lives just to chew on the small end of the corruption stick.

Of course, the fact that it is an act of risking your life to video police is a good enough reason for some people.
I'll just let the stupid ones spend their time and money accumulating an inventory of butt-hurt cops who want to kill them.
They are doing some good by teaching a few cops that The Constitution still exists, but at a price I don't want to pay and a lawyer I can't afford.
This is only the second or third year that citizen cameras seem to be everywhere, and police officers are learning how much damage that can do in court.

But there have still been zero cops convicted of killing people in 2015, and only 13 convicted since 2005...less than one conviction per year in a statistical pool of over 1,000 deaths per year.

I think some change is still in progress.

I've told many people that AAMCO is an equal opportunity rip-off joint and the police are equal opportunity thugs.
AAMCO doesn't cheat women because they're women and police don't kill people because they are black. They only do it because the opportunity happens.

Here's some interesting news, in direct contradiction to the, "Shoot first, think later" philosophy.
“More restrictive use of force policies — and the accountability structures to enforce them — can produce dramatic reductions in the number of people killed by police.”

Better regulation of use of force is better for police, too, as the report also shows that the numbers of officers assaulted or killed in the line of duty decreased in proportion with the number of regulations adopted by their department.

What traffic ticket? there was NO traffic stop.
"During a July 6 traffic stop in Falcon Heights, Philando Castile was fatally shot"
"Officer Jeronimo Yanez initiated a traffic stop about 9 p.m."
"Yanez’s attorney says Yanez pulled Castile over because the vehicle he was driving had a broken tail light and because Castile looked like a suspect in a recent armed robbery in the area."
