Well, yes. I conclude it was written by a foreigner.... he didn't get it, Agustín .... but I don't blame him ... foreign humor is an acquired taste. For instance, it took me a while to appreciate Monthy Python (though I always found Benny Hill hilarious) ... on the other hand, most anglo-speakers I know find Mafalda hard to understand, and I've always thought that Mr Quino is one of the best cartoonists of all time.
BTW, Les Luthiers, who you maybe know, when performing in Spain, had to rework their texts for their jokes to be of any effect. Even how they named their king.
