The Best 18650s Battery

About 3 years ago I went on a quest to answer this question. I did quite a bit of research on how to spot the fakes, how various brands perform in tests and so on. I hate trying to make sense out of all the garbage out there and wanted to do it "once and for all" and be done with it. I even bought a circuit board for testing cells.
Here's what I ended up with:

I see they are "sold out" at that source. Not sure what that means but there's a good chance my search effort was for naught if they're no longer available.

Be aware that any claimed capacity over 3300mAh is likely a fraud. The best battery technologies out there - employed by Panasonic, Samsung and even Tesla - do not exceed that technology frontier. And yet you'll find today batteries advertised on Amazon and elsewhere claiming 9,900mAh. I have some of these because they came with an LED flashlight I bought and they tested at roughly 10% of that claim.

Also consider that "best" is hard to define. We all want lots of capacity at the least cost, but there are other factors like built-in self-protection, lifespan, etc. And in a battery pack, balance with the other cells is very important. That's where an OEM has an edge - they can choose cells that balance best to produce a more efficient, long-lasting pack.

What are the best all round 18650s to rebuild a laptop battery ?
If by rebuild, you mean replacing all of the cells with ones that are matched, you need to decide what, if any, protection you want built-in to the cells and capacity.

If, on the other hand, you mean only replacing dead/weak cells, you'll likely have poor results because matching new batteries with weak ones is just asking for more future trouble.

As mentioned above, any capacities above a few Ah are likely fraudulent. I've bought cells advertising 9900mAh, 19900mAh, and 8,800,000mAh from AliExpress. I bought the 9900mAh before I knew better. I bought the others to test. The 8800Ah turned out to be a pretty solid 2Ah. I got refunds on the latter two; had to accept the 9900mAh batteries because I didn't realize they were fakes until too late.

Thanks very much for your responses. I actually pulled apart my dead Lenovo computer battery and found LGs LGGBM261865 and was thinking of replacing the six batteries found inside. I found tech info on the the batteries but know sales outlets.
My visit here has proven very valuable.
The Eve info is rich.
