Does anyone know how industrial servos and stepper motors can be tested and how to do basic troubleshooting with common test equipment?

I did some research on how to test an industrial servo motor, but the process seems complex and require dedicated equipment.

Any suggestions and/or links to tutorials would be highly appreciated.

 

Helps to have an available drive for the respective motor available, there are several types of Industrial servo's.
Without some way of running it through its paces, the tests are fairly basic, which depends again on the technology of the motor.
AC, BLDC, DC brushed etc.
