hellooo to all the gurus out there ..i have been working on a yamaha emx 512sc powered mixer Which wont power up ..have replaced a few components in the smps ..my query is is there a way to test a irgb10b60kd switcher with a dmm..would it read the same a a transistor? any help would be much appreciated .Ta.

Hi Joe thanks for the info had a read through doesnt say much about testing it with a dmm or maybe its me missing something.

 

There is a test circuit in the data sheet.

As far as a DMM is concerned, how many diode junctions do you see?

just one ..the confusing part is i have also replaced a similar irgb15b60kd ..new ones and they tested like a regular transistor with a dmm ...so either my 10b60kd is good and the other two are dodgy ones. like you state there only two pins that show a diode junction...point noted thanls mate.
