Hello Electrical Engineers and Fellow Hobbits I am attempting to run a telsa coil using a Solar module I found on amazon. I have already used this tesla coil with an 18v input from my Bench power supply and was curious to see if it would work with the solar panel: https://www.amazon.com/Ohuhu-Batter...86058861&sr=8-11&keywords=18+volt+solar+panel My only question is will this work?

 

SP is really 12 V @ 400 mA. give or take. How much current does Tesla coil draw ? If it were me, I'd just try it.

 

The Tesla Coil draws about 90 milliamps. So i assume it will work for the coil.

 

Try it, output may be lower than with 18 V. Let us know your result.

 

The impedance of the solar panel is too high to drive the Tesla coil.
