Is that smoke I can smell?My 22M is an old carbon 1/4W resistor, so, i'm far from sure that it wiil do it
It would probably do. Again, they would need to be rated for at least 3kV.What about 2 X 50M in parallel, 25 would be too much ?
I'll say it again, this will only be usable up to whatever the voltage rating of that 10MΩ resistor is. Whatever you do, do not try to use it above that voltage.I found few instructables for making HV probes. I ordered 2W 10Mohms and a 10Kohms to make a resistor bridge with 1000/1 attenuation.
