Is there any equipment or ways by which we can do the 'Aging' of some selected transistors in an IC ? The purpose is to see the 'Aging' effect on the IC if we apply aging to some selected transistors in a design. Any kind of source (paper/documents) or link to apply this kind of technique will be very helpful.

 

One accepted technique to age transistors is to simply put them in fixtures (as in sockets on PCBs) and operate them for a long time. Raising the temperature will help the stabilize more quickly.

 

Operating them at a high temperature, close to their maximum allowed, will speed the aging process.

Military standards should a MIL-STD-750 and MIL-STD-883 are a good place to start for testing details.

 

We would both hot and cold temperature cycle modules in a temperature chamber for, if I remember correctly, for 48 Hrs
