Hi all,
I recently purchased a tachometer to connect to my MC 60 Threadmill circuit board. The Instructions provided included connectivity between the sensor and the display panel . I'm at a point that I need to connect these wires to the MC 60 circuit board. Needless to say I have no clue as to where these connections are to be made.
Here is an outline of what I completed so far.

Description Sensor to Display To MC 60
Signal Black ----> Yellow ----> ????
DC- Blue ----> ----> ????
DC+ (12v) Red. ----> Red ----> ????

If someone could assist me in the connect of the Sensor/Display component to the MC60 it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in a advance for your assistance
John

Give detail, part No. etc of the tachometer, IIRC there is no tach allowance on the MC60.
On a T.M. the tach is usually from a sensor and slotted wheel on the motor which goes to the main console.
This is assuming you are using the MC60 for other purpose.
Max.

One, are you using the controller for other purposes than on a T.M.?
If so there is no provision for a Tach on the board itself.
What are the details of the tach you purchased?

So this is an aftermarket add-on to replace the original unit?
Did the original quit?
The original is integrated into the original console.
Not sure what you are trying to achieve here?

Yes, a wood lathe. I was under the impression that the digital display/sensor had the necessary curcuity to support the tach. One wire Is DC+ , one wire is DC- and one is for the tach signal. Here are the specs.

So basically you want to set up a tach for re-purposed MC60 and DC motor!
It would have been extremely useful to give the full information as to what you had, and wanted to achieve in the first place.
The whole sensor and display are completely separate items to the drive, and wired as a stand alone tach/indicator.
I would have thought that a ferrous metal proximity type sensor would have been better at you could have a slotted wheel, in this version you need a magnet at each sensor point.
If revolving at high rpm, you need to balance the sensor wheel, more than one magnet etc.

Max,
I had to junk the console. I replaced the console with a Potentiometer to control the speed and on/off and would like to install a digital tach.
Thanks John

Max,
The magnet was originally mounted on the treadmill flywheel. so l decided to go that way, but in any case will this configuration work and how to l connect the display/tach to the MC60.
Thanks for being so patient with me. John

The only reason for connecting to the MC60 is for power and that is not a good idea.
There is no other useful information on the MC to integrate the tach, it would be purely a stand alone unit.
A 12vdc supply would be needed to power the unit and the prox switch. The prox is NPN output so not clear whether you may need a pull up resistor from output to +12v.
