What can i do something interesting with the electronic parts of an optical drive*, its a dvd-rw????

 

...it depends, what parts are broken?

 

I dont know exactly, i think only the big motor.
It started to make a strange sound and the owner wanted to change it.

 

I recently saw a project where a guy made a laser pcb etcher using a laser from a DVD drive... I'm quite jealous of that project...
