Each primary coil is rated for 240 VAC , when you connect it with 240 VAC you apply it on each coil by making them in parallel,but when you connect it with 480 VAC you connect the coils in series as a result the two coils divide the 480 VAC equally into two parts 240 VAC for each coil,so again the two coil gets 240 VAC and the net(total) flux is also same for each coil.quixote said:So why do we not conenct just one primary coil in this example?
