That you can see different charges in relation to each other as "capacitors" connected together. Analysing how they would charge/discharge the same way you would analyse a circuit with those "capacitors", if one "capacitor" were to short out. As long as you dont move the objects closer/further away from each other (that would change the capacitance) and don't change the charge between them. Other factors might also play a role like the dielectric material in between the objects etc.Good to know that that is cleared up.
