Hi guys, A very simple question and hopefully someone can answer this :)

The Q and notQ in SR-latch remembers the previous value of S and R, respectively, am I correct?

Thank you very much!

Yes, that is correct.

When first powered on, Q and Q\ will be in an unknown state. There needs to be an input to S or R before the output will be in a known state.

In the classic NOR S-R latch, it's worth noting that /Q is not always the compliment of Q.

When both inputs are high, both outputs will be low. If one input goes low followed by the other, the output remembers which was the last to go low.
