The guy wants to rebuild his speaker. That's all. It has some sentimental value to him. If it works - great. If not - at least he tried. And there are enough videos of people rebuilding speakers that it looks doable. Whether it will turn out with good results or not - that remains to be seen. I've already questioned why one would want to rebuild a small speaker like that. The cost and reliability of a new speaker outweighs the chances of getting it done right at home.

Many thanks to J.H. for post #17. A whole bunch of insight and wisdom there, based on evidently a lot of experience.
And the explanation for wanting to rebuild instead of replace is given in post #1
"i am planing to rebuild this one. this speaker is from my deceased father. thank you in advance." So it is a personal, commemorative sort of reason, not a cost-effective sort of motivation.
So now the TS has the information and the explanations to understand what is involved and the related costs and efforts..
And I learned a bit as well, so thanks to all of those able to provide information and insights.
