While hot swapping why sparks comes when inserting power adapter barrel to DC load?

What is a hot swapping?

The spark is caused by the power supply charging the capacitors in the load.

As Eric says. Also, during insertion there will likely be intermittent contact between plug and socket conductors, which could result in voltage spikes being generated if the load is inductive.

 

And there's yet anther possibility - could be ESD (Electro Static Discharge). Though that's likely not the main reason.
