Hi Guys,
I would appreciate if somebody could give me a hand with the attached exercise. It's easy enough to solve using nodal analysis but I am feeling a bit stumped trying to solve it using source transformation.

Well I can't replace the 4A current source with a voltage source because then current ix disappears. If I replace the dependant voltage source with a current source I get a dependant current source of 2ix/5 A parallel with a 5 ohm resistor. I cant combine the 5 and 10 ohms resistors as current ix disappears.
I am pretty much stuck at this point.

You are doing good job with the problem.
You can not simplifier the circuit more. So all you have to do now is to star finding Ix.

It's easy enough to then find ix using nodal analysis, however I can't see the point as it was simpler to do this first up without bothering with the source transformation.
