It was time to clean out my parts dish to sort and store the accumulated detritus from breaking down breadboard circuits. I dumped all the parts out and threw a jumper back into the dish and when I looked at it this is what I found. The jumper standing up in the middle of the dish? Anyone care to guess why?

Yup and landed in such a manner as the opposing forces were equal. I could push it down with my finger and it would pop right back straight up. The wire is copper, but the tips are ferrous. Seems that most parts have some ferrous metal in them even resistor legs.
