Platelets or blood cells?

Why does the author write an article that was in the widely available journal, NATURE but not read the article? He only read the summary published in New Atlas. Weak.

The findings of the discovery were described in Nature. The study was led by researchers from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), according to New Atlas.
Also, if you would read the article, it actually says it is the first real-time direct observation of the production of platelets (not blood cells).

Your, "That was a big miss" was your miss. Indirect evidence has been available that lungs produce platelets since the 1930s.

Howell, W. H. & Donahue, D. D.The production of blood platelets in the lungs. J. Exp. Med.65, 177–203 (1937)

Direct observation wasn't possible until the latest whiz bang technology was available.

PS - next time, link to the original article rather than a summary of a summary.
