Hi. In a large scale PV farm if the generator is disconnected from the distribution system because of a tripped circuit breaker can the PV farm remain idle or must the energy be diverted through resistors to dissipate energy?

 

the panels will be fine if disconnected temporarily. I will say they should not remain this way for many days or weeks though.
