I'm wondering how efficient AND POSSIBLE it would be to create a solar power/battery arrays for powering motherboard rails directly.

A traditional setup for a basic solar system would have efficiency loss with the inverter and then with the power supply.

You then have losses with regulation alone. and with this system you only need the monitor from time to time so you can power that on mains.

Anyone have experience with current loads on these rails etc.?

I couldn't find anything at first but it looks like the direct powering has been done.
I would need more wattage.
