Hi,

Creating this new topic to get some good knowledge on the Solar Energy and Converters which it into electricity. Recently bought a new house where it is having only the option to run all appliances with electricity not with any gas and all. Seeking some good information regarding Solar Panels, Energy converters, Solar Equipment and more on Solar Energy. Requesting one and all to reply with the useful information.

Thank you and Regards.

Where are you located?

It's still very expensive and you need a subsidy to make the time to break even reasonable.

It's supposedly "affordable" in my area, but no one will give me a quote without a home consultation. That means it's not really affordable; even with state and federal tax credits.

Since a large percentage of the panels are coming from China, prices probably just went up 25% in the US.

Bureaucrats ,politicians and middlemen and installers have made this very difficult in most western countries , almost as if they're is a conspiracy to keep this out of the hands of the public ....

Solar panels are so cheap now this is very doable as long as no high import taxes and inspectors excetera ....

Start with solar panels ... used panels are very underprices in US and Europe ... many people have tried it and got disappointed , or want to move house and sell their panels .... Don't be fooled by the lie that there are different qualities of panels , they're pretty much the same and put out power for many decades , usually declining to 80% the rated power after 25 years ...pay by Watt less than 0.50c/W (100W panel $50)

You need to go slowly , get educated and know what you are trying to achieve ... if you have to deal with inspectors and taxes and can't do the work yourself you will almost certainly lose money ...

hi,
I would recommend that first you do an audit on your power requirements.
ie: the electrical equipment you want to power from solar/batteries and the powered On duration.
Basically Average and Peak power required, considering also the battery back up capacity.

If you have these figure already, please post.

That's a good idea ,

I would just add that if you are thinking of battery storage and already have a reliable grid connection , then think again..
It makes NO sense ...batteries have to be replaced every few years ... just the cost of replacing batteries alone makes it more expensive than buying electricity from the grid ..

People only use battery storage where there is no reliable grid connection .
