Hi,
I'm struggling to identify an SMD element (which I suspect has failed) onboard of an old Toshiba T1000LE laptop from the 80s. It appears to be SOT-89 packaged with markings RD R5 as on the attached image. I'm suspecting it to be a voltage regulator, transistor or a diode, but unfortunately there is no marking on the PCB which could give a hint as to what it might be. I have spent days searching online SMD resources and JFGI to exhaustion but no luck so far.
Please help.
