I am a volunteer at the local repair cafe and we try! to repair things for free brought in by residents and so hopefully divert them from landfill. I have had in a monitor which has a broken micro plug (see photo). It is 6 pin with 1mm spacing but does not seem to be from the usual suppliers. Any idea what it is and where I I might get one? all help appreciated

I see only two wires, are there other circuits using this plug as well???Is there access to whatever the mating portion is mounted in??If the connector is not to normally be taken apart and then put back together, perhaps the connection could be made permanent.

Thanks MisterBill2. I can't get at the female socket as it would mean interfering with the screen. I can look at wiring in permanently and will do so if no one has any thoughts identifying the right plug. thanks again

If those pins that I see are the standard 0.025 square, then crimp-on mates are available from a number of companies. But if they are the much smaller ones, choices are fewer.
Is that the actual connector showing in the picture?? Or just a similar sample. It also looks like many of the connectors that I see in older VCRs, which might be a source of replacements connectors that could be spliced on. are there more than two wires on the actual broken connector??

many thanks - yes it is the actual connector that is shown. You may be right, it may will be similar to those in old VCRs but is there a source for them?

Older VCRs may be in scrapyards and recycling heaps, as well as assorted clean-out efforts.
Is the problem with the connector I see that it no longer stays connected??I see cut off wires. and the mating connector in the photo is obviously broken on one end.
My choice would be to connect the two sides and then glue it in place.
