What ever you say, not going to argue with you over something so trivial. Wasn't asking for resolution, just making a statement about what has been happening. and why would I Google for something that I can't change or fix?

One thing I've learned with @JoeJester he's good at Googling, it's something like knowing what and how to format your query, he tried to help me with that once, but I've long forgotten what he was saying. Google is your friend when you know how to format.

Ont. is kind of a weird shape, is the "north" in northwestern with reference to the center of population or is it really the Northwest corner of Ont.?
Gophert I mean districts north and west of Lake Superior what ppl like to call _Crownland_ but I have same issues with that as names of constellations:confused:! So I say maybe contemporary cartographers and ancient astrologers like their magic sugar cubes too much:D!

do you consider Thunder Bay to be NW Ont?
Gophert yes it's basically SE corner of NW Ontario so basically what St Louis is to American _West_ Port Arthur (which most ppl who live there still call it almost 50 years after _amalgamation_) is to NW Ontario:cool:!

like Port Severn?
Gophert I think you mean FORT Severn:confused:? And if so all I can say is didn't your mom ever tell you it's not nice to TRY to dox ppl:eek:;)?

o_O Some of us are not retired and actually have to work for a living... you know...

Oh wait... you meant slow as in "slow page load speed" ??? .... my bad .... :p
Been getting a lot of, "505" errors myself, not slow down.
hi,
Same problem past few weeks, sometimes requiring 2 or 3 retries over a couple of minutes.
E

I think @Aleph(0) meant, "slow" as in, few new posts. Not a slow connection.
Thanks to everyone for responses but I just meant not as many posts as usual. So now I'm saying if forum traffic rallies during shutdown we'll all know which of us are US Federal employees:p!

Ah... slow as in "business is slow" ? ... I got confused with slow as in "not too intelligent" .... :p
No, I've been around here a long time so it's always been that kind of slow.
Cmartinez and Gophert you are funny but I haven't been on here long enough to risk touching that kind of humor with 1ly pole:eek:!

So being serious I wouldn't know if communication was slow cuz my connection is always snail pace with constant errors and lockups:rolleyes:! Which is totally Leaseweb's fault NOT AAC's:)!

So here's disclaimer: All the above certified 100% leet free after 10 passeso_O:cool:!

Killivolt and Cmartinez maybe it's just me but I say Google search sucks compared to a few years ago! Just for example now even the _define: _ term returns hits on Celeb gossip and other tawdry BS! The way the world is going totally reminds me of scene from old _rock opera_ JCSS where Ted Neely has a little fit cuz of merchants turning his temple into like an orgy of tawdry commercialismo_O! So even though I'm not very religious I can totally relate:rolleyes:!

It feels more like Idocracy to me.
Especially the glorification of WWF-like strategies to make a back story, a hero, a vilian, a wrongful act and a contrived urgency to resolve. The former CEO is even on staff to consult on the storyline.

Here is President Camacho (from Idiocracy)...

"St Louis--- American west...." When I first heard that, as a fairly young grade-schooler, I said "WHAT?!!!"

That must have been said by Benjamin Franklin or one of his often quoted friends, because it has been entirely untrue, inapplicable, and oxymoronic ever since.

I guess I'm needing a(nother) good laugh....

If I'm not mistaken, St Louis was the frontier of the west for a very long time. It was the way to the west and the way from the west. Very large and rich part of our history.

"Gateway" perhaps,,, because it was where many made their "no turning back" decision, as they BEGAN their navigation, westward, up the Missouri river.

It's something you can report and something the site owner can address with their ISP.

When the three sites I'm associated with had that error, the ISP moved them to a different server.

I hadn't come across the 500 error with AAC. I've had it not load and knowing from a tracert, there are almost a dozen points in the route between AAC and me, any one of them could have failed. I only looked up 505 because, other than the New Mexico area code and a hatch chile salsa with that number, I hadn't seen it with respect to an http error.

I think you missed @shortbus's point. He doesn't care because 500 series errors are SERVER issues, not communications issues. Use google to learn about it.

It's the first quarter of the year and a lot of people are probably busy preparing their tax return for 2017. :(
Most people who get money back, file now. Most people who have to pay, wait until the last minute. The people who file now, expecting a tax return, are going to be sorely disappointed. During this shutdown the IRS is only staffing the employees take people's money away, not the employees who give people's money back to them.

They're actually staffing a lot more than that. About half their workforce will be there, including all of the customer service staff through the end of the tax filing season. But you are correct in that they will process returns that include payments but not returns that don't. However, if your refund is issued more than 45 days after the later of when it was received or when it was due, they have to pay you interest.
