Single phase wiring ?

Im seeking information on how to wire an appliance.. i have a 3 terminal block with only L1 and L2 are labeled the third has no label ...wiring from outlet is 3 wires black white and G... what wires go where on terminal block?? In eg...L1-black, L2- white ????

I have a terminal block with L1 L2 and ground ...i have 3 wires from poweroutlet black white and grnd ...where do i put what wire ...???

What is the input voltage requirement of the appliance... 120VAC or 240VAC? My guess is that it is 240VAC since L1 and L2 are shown on the terminal strip.

@BKKK Sounds like you are trying to power it from a standard 120v outlet?
You will need a 240v volt circuit ran from the panel or other source, you do not need the neutral for 1 phase 240v.
What is the nature of the appliance? Wattage?
What country are you in?

You can't run that from a wall outlet you need 240 volt outlet like the dryer
which would be black white and bare copper or black red white and bare copper or just black red and white

older houses used the black and white for L1 and L2 and a bare copper for the center eq ground but some where Black L1 Red L2 and white for eq ground
Newer home have been updated to newer code that makes you use Black L1 Red L2 and the white on the center tap and the bare copper a safety ground

Frankly I cringe when I see wire nuts to connect 24amp rated loads.!:eek:
You need a 30amp breaker in the panel to feed it. Its all 240, so you don't need the neutral.
