A quick sine wave generator.

Works for a single supply. Tried it with TL074 and it sounded fine (didn't have a scope so how close it was to a sine wave I'm not sure) But you could give it a try.

It is a square wave generator followed by a low-pass filter.

You can do far better with a fixed frequency true sine wave generator.

If you want to build one, that's cool and I certainly understand. I was going to build a simple function generator, but I discovered you can use an Android or iPhone as well. There are several function/signal generator apps out there and it just runs through the headphone jack.

There are also really cheap ones available on e-bay ($10 or so). I used the phone method a bit, but ended up buying a small dedicated unit on e-bay for $12.
