Hey guys. I have an old hand mixer (220v 140w) with a 2 speed controller. When I put power direct it runs perfectly. There is only a capacitor and a diode on the circuit but they are both blown beyond recognition.

I am hoping someone could help me work out which diode(and polarity) and what capacitor I must use to get the 2 speeds working properly.20200718_124848.jpg20200718_124218.jpg20200718_124228.jpg

The capacitor will have markings on it , it's more likely the circuit is an Halfwave diode and smoothing cap, if so a 1N4007 will do.

That circuit does not look right to me, unless I am missing something.?
Some of the very old hand mixers had a mechanical interrupter switch for speed.
