Red Dwarf - probably series 2-4 are the best
Blackadder - same applies
Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps
The Office - better than the American version IMHO
Shameless - ditto, and the first series is a bit slow.

friend said THE BIG BANG THEORY is fun, yesterday I saw the first season,not so much fun.

My wife loves The Big Bang Theory. I found it a little boring - kind of like the same joke told over and over in a different way. But, it did get me laughing pretty hard a few times.

I told my wife that I don't watch the show much because it's a little like going to work. Basically, I spend most days with a similar bunch of nerds (and fit in there pretty well).

British film,I only saw some formal ones,such as PRIDE AND PREJUDGE,and some royal films.So in my impression,Britisher are formal and serious, even the accent. I dont hear there are comedy.American show seems popular here

Here's my new picture.
Just made a test of a boost converter.
The blue LED is under a bit of paper because otherwise it was tricky to take the photo.
It's amazingly inefficient but was fun.
The actual efficiency is around 32% but I waste too much power in a sense resistor because I'm using 1V for the test. Ignoring the wastage in the sense resistor the efficiency is closer to 44%.

 

Here's the story.
The ground floor of our house was vacant. We just did the masonry work and were continuing with the rest. Some guy came and said tht he wants to run a shop there and he will complete the rest and spend his own money to completely finish the ground floor if we gave the floor for rent.
Father agreed but to pay back what is spent on finishing the ground floor on monthly basis. Some amount will be deducted from the rent it self.
So the plumbing and electrical and the doors and all tht were done by him and father asked to deduct 16% from the rent every month. Both of them agreed and signed the documents and the place was rented for 4 years. Starting from this January.
It all went fine until one month the rent did not came. Excuses were given, time passed to two months.
And during all these time dad is like on a steam roller. No wonder he gets short tempered and all sorts of things start happening. Medical emergencies and god knows what else.
Reason is, Pressure. Dad does not like to owe anybody anything since he's old and all tht. His sister was financing our house till the loan was approved. All our money was spent on the foundation. So dad is repaying the what he owes from the rent. Dad does not like to owe anybody anything. Since the rent did not came he started to think too much and things were crazy.
So what I did was, I took the power of attorney from dad and I send him to an Island far away to his second wife. . I need to keep him cool and happy during his old age u know, to keep his blood pressure stable.
And next thing I did was, I bought a chain and a padlock and I locked the door of our home ground floor shop tight .
As long as I am around no body is going to run a shop in my house without paying me.
So the shop owner went to the cops and all the racket started and I have to go tomorrow to face the charges. That's all
Nothing much.

 

oooh, sounds like a nasty situation. good luck with that, hope it turns out in your favor, as it should since you have signed docs.

 

Were you arested,what are the charging system in your country.
Do you face a fine or jail.

In fact I was so good I did not say much...( I was speechless to be exact. My first court session u know )
Judge ruled in my favor, Lock stays and I got my rent.
I'm a nice guy, so I gave him till this month.

PS..let u know on little secret....Judge was a childhood friend.
