Hi everyone, when there is a short circuit on a parallel circuit wouldn't that make the other resistor values 0?

 

Oh, does it 0 out the resistors in its own parallel circuit so it brings the value up from 5 to 10 in the other one?

 

What value is brought up? 5 what? 10 what? Units are important always.

 

A short only affects the resistors that it is in parallel with making them insignificant.
Look at the circuit, replace R3 with a short (line), then see what you have left.
You will still have a circuit but it will be smaller.
