I am using the Siglent 1202X-E oscilloscope and need to set it up to see a single event and capture it on screen, can anyone give me a clue how to go about this please?

I have a few trigger options but i don't know what i am doing and i need some help.

 

Set the scope's trigger level to trigger on the signal you want to capture, choose a timebase to display the sample size in elapsed time, then press the single button in the trigger section. It will capture a single waveform.

 

As Ya’akov says but also consider as this is a storage scope you can also set a slower timebase and then zoom in on the captured event. By doing this you can also see more of the pre-trigger waveform and maybe also capture earlier events.

The trigger is what gives you the power to find what you are looking for.....learn to use it to best effect.
The trigger level that is set is crucial to capturing anything when using a Single trigger mode.
Normally a rising edge trigger is used but don't discount the need to use a falling edge trigger occasionally.

Screenshots saved to a USB stick and posted here can show us your settings and captured waveforms should you need further help.
Use the blue Print button to send the screenshot to the USB stick.

 

All I am trying to do is capture a pulse that happens very fast then disappears.....ok I'll give it a go.

 

Ok I pushed the single button and the display went blank, then I triggered my circuit and the waveform appeared frozen on the display....it worked.

Now I need to play with the settings to learn more.
