Company I'm working for has purchase a Komax wire machine (cut, strip, crimp, label). They are using Solid Edge for Mechanical CAD and would not like to move away from it. Solid Edge contains wire harness tools for creation of bundles( length ,grouping). Eventually the process of creating a schematic, laying out the wires in a physical custom panel, and exporting to Komax need to be automated.

The hard part is selecting a 2D schematic CAD that hold information such as pins, connector, devices, wire gauges and wire colors. The hard part is pins. Any ideas? Looking directly at E3 (Zuken), Promise, and Eplan?

Currently using Promise (its alright looking to see other options if they are better).

What is the main difference between Capital and Vesys? They appear to be very similar except for size. What is a ballpark on cost?
