Any body have the issue ?
I believe it is infecting Android phones.
The virus is almost impossible to clean without flashing phone.

Who is the bugger who created it?
Why would some one do that ?

Hi,

Wow that's the weirdest one i've heard yet. But so far the ones that i have heard of must have come from the Google Play Store with a download of some wanted good software because that's the source i know of that people have used to download apps for their phones and tablets.

Mine actually got a virus or whatever you want to call it, that would turn the friggin tablet on even after it was totally powered down (not put into standby). It would turn on by itself every 8 days and run the battery down. I had to install a switch on the battery to completely power off manually in order to stop it from running the battery down when i wasnt using it.

If that happened to my phone, I'd reset it to factory settings. Who knows what other things the virus is doing. It could be using the camera and mic to eavesdrop on you whenever the phone is on.

Hi,

Well of course i had considered that, but then i loose all of my programs too. Some of them i needed, and it would be hard to determine which one was causing this, and if it was only one that was the cause and not multiple programs. That's why i went to the battery switch idea.

What we need is an app that can hunt these things down and stop them.

I think there are virus scanners for smartphones.

I agree it's very inconvenient to have to reinstall apps and go through all of the OS updates again. Especially for those of us who live on the wrong side of the Digital Divide. But worth it to have a phone that isn't spying on you or being turned into a Bot.

The penalty for these social misfits who manage to get caught needs to be severe enough to discourage that type of behavior; in them or any wannabes.

No. I wasn't watching Porn neither was any one else for that matter.
It must be from an App.
It is my wife's phone and she does not like porn.
And I have encountered other peoples phone that use android. Mostly Samsung ones.
I installed Lookout on the phone and it did get rid of the pop ups but it is still redirecting every time google is loaded and yes before it was using up data like hell and downloading all sorts of s**t.

I did a search and the only way was to flash it. Factory resetting does not help.

Or quit watching porn?

Hi,

That would be a good guess, but it's known for certain that it was never used for that. But maybe from general browsing on the web? I cant say for certain that going to some site that is supposedly ok and not porn did not do it, but i suspect it was an app with a hidden agenda. Yeah it would take some doing to prove.

What amazed me about this is that the tablet can be completely powered down and yet still be woken up by an app in the tablet. Somehow the app is able to wake it up, which doesnt make sense unless the CPU is worken up on a regular basis already in order to see if the power button has been pressed as it is a momentary action push button not a slide switch. I didnt check it with a scope yet, but that's normally a way of doing it rather than using a slide switch which provides full battery off. Plus, the clock calendar has to stay functioning even when off.

I also had to wonder if it came with the tablet itself in something that was already in there, but i cant remember if it happened right away or after i downloaded some apps from the Google Spy Store :)

HI,

What do you mean flash it that a factory reset does not work?

Considering you are Mexican, I get that you didn't catch the pop culture reference.
You're right, I didn't catch it... just googled it and came up with nothing

That phrase sounds vaguely familiar to Bill Clinton's denial of sex abuse accusations ... but I'm almost sure you were referring to something else

It wouldn't be a very useful alarm clock if it couldn't do that.

Hi,

Well actually it would still work if you power down in standby mode rather than complete power down. There are two modes where the total off mode uses much less battery power. My problem is that even with complete power down it wakes up and it shouldnt.
