Quite often the switching of mains power would not be done on the front panel. Several good reasons for that choice. AND in this instance it would be a rather big change. Thus not an option.

Consider that J.C. did indeed provide the scheme to provide what was requested in post#17 and that I verified that it was totally correct in post#18, and that nether of those ever mentioned switching other than the control signal, what is the problem?????
Certainly there are much more complex methods, as well as suggestions that are not going to work. Oh Well.
