What is the difference between FR4 and Rogers PCB materials?
which one is more generally used by ppl ?
reliability and performance ?

FR4 is woven fiberglass while Rogers materials are composites. The latter is good for rapid PCB production or thick boards or applications where you don't care about the dielectric constants of your substrates (i.e.: non-RF applications), while Rogers materials are very good for well-controlled material properties and board thickness (they can get down to 6 mil thick or less, if I recall the minimum size correctly), and are used frequently for RF applications. Certain ones have better properties for different applications.

The reliability and performance of each really depends on what application you're driving for. Performance of FR-4 is atrocious above a few GHz (and I personally wouldn't even try to use it even in the low GHz!) and has a lower thermal conductivity, while Rogers materials tend to be more expensive, and some struggle with manufacturability (certain types of Rogers materials are very soft, comparatively-speaking).

I don't have a specific website in mind for reading up on FR4 or Rogers stuff beyond Rogers' own website (where you can get datasheets for their families of products), but reading datasheets is usually my go-to first step, or even a simple search engine query can get pretty decent, high-level explanations.

let me summarize:

FR-4 is the most popular substrate material for rigid PCBs. It has pretty good dielectric properties and it is very basic material to start with in PCB design. Provides strength to PCB and very cost effective.

Rogers PCBs have excellent dielectric properties and minimal resistance. They are generally used in high-speed, high-frequency circuitry applications.
