# First get a hot gun.

# 60/40 0.8mm solder

# No clean flux used for SMD work.

# A solder sucker

# Solder braid or wick ( good quality)

# Another iron that could control the temp and interchangeable tips is very handy and helpful ( U will need a fat tip set at 400°C to suck up the solder using the wick)

# If possible get some normal flux too.

# and last a computer mother board. A socket 478 is best to practice.

Next some time off to get dirty.

 

If you have experienced a large power surge. Like SgtWookie suggested. It may be a good chance that also the power unit is zapped also. Have you checked this out

t06afre meant, did you test the output of the charger to see if it was within specifications using at least a multimeter set to voltage?
