Repair Service Recommendations

Hello.
I am hoping for some recommendations regarding drive repairs. We have a CNC machine that uses Yaskawa servo drives. One axis drive needed repair. We sent it off to Yaskawa to be repaired thinking the manufacturer would be the best place to do that. Well, they move a glacial speed on repairs and we are down in the meantime.

Does anyone have recommendations or experience with repair services? We also have had some proprietary ISA boards that needed repaired in the past and it is only a matter of time before they need repaired again. So a service that does that too would be nice.

Thank you.

You can contact ACS Industrial Services. They specialize in repairing industrial electronics, including servo drives, motor controls, and custom PCBs like ISA boards.

But even if you find a suitable repair shop, how does that help you? You don't have the drive that needs to be repaired (you sent it off to Yaskawa, where it is sitting someplace waiting for them to get around to it).

We will get the drive back from Yaskawa. I'm looking for future reference. It seems we need something like these repaired every few years. The place we had relied on doesn't do this anymore.

Another alternative would be to purchase an extra drive, if they were all the same model, and then a quick change-out when a failure happened and the failed drive would hopefully be back before the next change-over was needed. There is a whole lot of benefit from being back in business in an hour instead of in a month.

We do have an extra drive that I have no idea how we obtained it. It's dead too. But getting it repaired and on the shelf is the plan. Thus, the reason for asking for alternative repair services.

One company that I have worked for, J.E.Myles,/CPR (Control Power Reliance, has an industrial electronics repair segment that is quite good.
They are in Troy, Michigan.
